De Bono Thinking Hats - Reading

Today we had our first reading experience in Room 19. Each day the class reads a "Big Book" together, every day we focus on a different area within the book such as grammar, vocabulary, expression and why the font in the story may change colour or size. This week the children and I are reading " The Hungry Giant " By Joy Cowley. We used the thinking hats to discuss the feelings of the Giant and the village people in the book. Some children were selected to put on the red thinking hat which represents feelings. The vocabulary the class used to describe the giants feelings was delightful " hungry, angry, frustrated, annoyed, lonely and grumpy".
