We can not believe it is the end of term three. With the term now at the end we would like to notify you of an event that will be taking place at Arahoe School on Saturday the 31st of October - Arahoe Spring Fair. This is in week 4.
Each class has to be in charge of a stall at the fair and this year E-Learning will be running an Environmentally focussed stall called " Wash Against Waste".
The Wash Against Waste trailer is a washing booth where we will be washing all the dishes used from the food stalls at the fair and then circulating them back to the food stalls. Last year we had a lot of plastic food containers used to serve food and as you can imagine all of these plastic containers went straight into landfill!
Arahoe is a waste wise school and we would love your help on the day for an hour.
On the first week back of Term 4 we will have a sign up sheet on our door for you to put your name down to help. The truck will be up and running from 11am - 2pm. We require four helpers per hour and the first week back we will have a meeting to let you know a little bit more about the Wash Against Waste Trailer. Did you know that the Wash Against Waste trailer is the only one in New Zealand?
If you would like to see it in action it is at the New Lynn Night Markets every Thursday and is from the ECO matters house in New Lynn.
Stay tuned for the meeting information and pop the school fair date in your diary!
Thanks, Dana and Jaimee.
