Parent Help

I have had a lot of parents asking if they can help in the classroom. I really appreciate parent help as it makes the classroom work more smoothly. To make it easier for all of us, I have made a weekly timetable, in the timetable it breaks down all the parent help jobs I would love help with. It is things like cutting and gluing, setting up writing books and reading to a group of children. I like parents coming into the class but parent help needs to occur without interfering with teacher time.

The time table is located in the parent help box. Each day of the week has four things listed that needs to occur on that day e.g wiping down chalk boards, putting books away, cutting out handwriting photos and gluing into books. There is an example of what needs to be done attached to the timetable, so you know what it needs to look like.

If you would like to choose one day where you would like to come in for the term please let me know.

If you would like to read to a group of children, please come in from 2pm. I will give you a group or an individual child. You will be asked to read with the child as they read their reading book to you again.  You can also practise the following which will be super beneficial.
1. The letter ID and the sound they make
2. Play high frequency word bingo
3. Make high frequency words with magnets
4. Practise writing on chalk boards or paper high frequency words e.g the,to,is,a,are
