Writing- cut up sentences

Today as part of our writing program some students had to try and put their story back together and glue it underneath their picture they had painted the day before. It's quite tricky as they have to figure out which words go in what order and make sure the words are the right way round. This is called cut up sentences, in a small group working with the teacher all the children's sentences are put infront of them they have to find the correct sentence for their picture then that sentence it's cut up. From this part the children have to put it back together again. This is part of the Barabara Bran Literacy Programe. The smiles on the children's faces after they have solved this tricky challenge says it all.
